This water plant forms dense clumps of upright spiky foliage. The slate blue-green leaves add color contrast to the pond. Golden-brown seed tufts appear in summer. Plants should be kept constantly moist.

Spacing: one per square foot.

Soil: wet boggy soil.
Water Depth: 1-3" over the top of the pot.
Bloom time: summer.

This hardy bog plant has very unusual grass-like, wiry, twisted stems and cymes of small brown-green flowers. Very effective when grown in containers and excellent in dried floral arrangement.

Grows well at water's edge or in bog gardens.
