Only
a few varieties are available, but they are very
useful, their leaves help to keep the water clear
and the fish cool in the summer. These plants
normally grow in one to three feet of water, however,
some species can grow in much deeper water. Shallower
than recommended planting may result in leaves
held above the surface and poor flowering. Water
lilies and lotuses, along with Golden Club, Water
Hawthorn, and Water Fringe are examples of this
group.
